Who We Are

The Network Services (NS) team facilitates the business of the university through the operation of a fast, robust data network. We offer Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to over 100 buildings, and DSL, T-1, or 100 Megabit Ethernet to over 20 more buildings. Most of these buildings are also serviced by Nomad, our wireless network. The dormitories comprise a 6880 host network also called RESNET with a 100 megabits per second connection to the Internet, while the rest of campus amounts to another 23,532 hosts, using part of an OC-12 (the remainder of which is used for Internet 2®).

The NS team is just one part of the Office of Information Technology.
